About NJERI
The New Jersey Educators in Radiologic Imaging is a non-profit professional association of educators from radiologic imaging programs in New Jersey. Members are program directors, clinical coordinators, faculty, adjunct faculty, and clinical instructors. The association meets quarterly throughout the year to share educational outcomes and academic successes in an effort to improve the educational opportunities in New Jersey for radiologic imaging students and educators.
NJERI was founded to establish a lasting organization and membership, foster quality educational ideas and ideals, and to achieve set objectives of the organization.
As published in the Bylaws of NJERI, the objectives of this organization shall be to improve the quality of education and instruction in the profession of radiologic sciences and to disseminate information regarding the profession through:
1. Providing for the educational and professional development of the educator by sharing of our educational experience and/or knowledge of textbooks, equipment and curricula for the benefit of the student in radiologic sciences and the long range benefit of the radiologic technologist.
2. Making ourselves available as advisors and counselors to educational institutions wishing to either establish new programs or upgrade existing programs.
3. Recognition as professional radiologic sciences educators by the:
a) New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners
b) Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology
c) New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technology, Inc
d) American Society of Radiologic Technologists
e) Association of Educators in Radiologic Sciences
NJERI is a non-profit professional association dedicated to educators in radiologic imaging across New Jersey. We provide a space for collaboration and growth within the medical imaging academic community.

Meeting Information
NJERI schedules five (5) meetings each year starting in September and ending in June. Since members and various educational programs are situated throughout New Jersey, the meetings vary in location & include a remote option. Since members have vary schedules each semester the day of the week for the meeting also changes. The final meeting of the year is a luncheon in which new officers are installed for the upcoming year.

In Remembrance
The New Jersey Educators in Radiologic Imaging (NJERI) regret to acknowledge the passing of Al Orlandi, a trusted colleague, radiography educator, and radiation physicist with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. As the Secretary for the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, Al was a tremendous asset to radiography programs throughout the State of New Jersey. He not only demonstrated unwavering commitment to the profession, but he was a tremendous supporter of radiography educators in New Jersey.
NJERI extends its deepest condolences to Al’s daughters Kristin and Heather, his son-in-law Drew, his two grandsons, Tyler and Evan, his former wife Cindy and to all his extended family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy of educational excellence and dedication to the radiologic sciences will continue to resonate for years to come. He will surely be missed!
Throughout her extensive career, Merryl demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success, most recently providing comprehensive tutoring sessions to prepare candidates for the ARRT examination. Over the years, she mentored hundreds of students, guiding them with expertise, patience, and a steadfast dedication to their professional development. Her impact on the radiologic technology community is reflected in the many professionals she helped prepare for successful careers in both radiography and mammography.
As a valued member of NJERI, Merryl frequently expressed her appreciation for the collaborative relationships among educators, recognizing that such partnerships ultimately serve to strengthen the education and preparation of radiography students. Colleagues who worked with Merryl over the years will remember her genuine enthusiasm for radiology education and her consistent commitment to student excellence.
NJERI extends its deepest condolences to Merryl’s husband Jay, her sons Will and Scott and their families, and to all her extended family, friends, and colleagues. Her legacy of educational excellence and dedication to the radiologic sciences will continue to resonate throughout our professional community.
